For the best results by hand, apply wax evenly to the surface with a brush, take away any excess with a cloth and then buff to a shine. Wax can also be applied with a cloth, if preferred.

The beautiful patination that wax easily creates on a piece of pine furniture cannot be recreated with spray lacquers or varnishes. Wax polishes offer little protection to furniture but owners of waxed furniture now accept that if you want furniture to look that good, then you have to look after your furniture.
