Brush and Spray Lacquers

Nitrocellulose Range

A range of lacquers designed specifically for the furniture industry. These materials are fast drying, give good build and appearance and, in the case of the lacquers, are easy to pull over. The range also includes Sealer, formulated to achieve maximum build, rapid sanding and good intercoat adhesion. Mylands 2000 range and No. 4 range both offer high build, however, No. 4 range is a slightly superior product.

Bar Top Lacquer

Bar Top lacquer is a one pack cellulose lacquer designed to offer superior moisture resistancy to other cellulose lacquers. Bar Top can be applied by brush or Zorino mop and dries quickly. Apply between 3-5 coats to give a good protection and should be pulled over to give the best finish. Bar Top is still widely used within the trade, however, one pack polyurethane 54-040--22- is a far more durable product but not as aesthetically pleasing.

Pre-Catalysed Products

Pre-Catalysed lacquers and enamels are widely used within the furniture industry. A single pack acid curing systems with easy application, hardness, drying and wearing properties formulated to meet general use requirements as stipulated in British Standard 6250.

Mylands Pre-Catalysed lacquers, primers and enamels have the following benefits: single pack; ease of application; fast drying; suitable for all types of domestic furniture; hard wearing.

Mylands 2000 range and No. 12 range both offer high build, however, the No. 12 range is a superior product.

Acid Catalysed Products

A range of high quality two pack acid cured materials, specially formulated to protect furniture, whilst enhancing its appearance. Ideal for all contact situations such as schools, offices and hospitals but not recommended for use on horizontal working surfaces in laboratories.

Providing excellent resistance to abrasion, wet and dry heat, oils, fats and solvents. Formulated to meet the severe use requirements as stipulated in British Standard 6250.

Water Thinnable Lacquer

A range of lacquers and enamels specially formulated for the wooden furniture industry as a compliant coating to meet the requirements of the Environmental Protection Act 1990.

Products include primers, enamels and clear lacquers for a wide range of natural timbers, veneers and manufactured boards and are ideally suited for timbers where an opening grained finish is required.

Polyurethane Gloss Lacquer

A single pack moisture curing polyurethane lacquer for wood producing a tough, high gloss finish.

Suitable for on site application to bar tops, floors and other surfaces where excellent resistance to wear and constant washing is required.

Application is normally by brush, two or three coats dependent on the standard of finish required. Coverage 12-15 sq. metres per litre.

No. 8 Lacquer

Mylands Polyurethane Lacquer is a one pack, very durable coating, designed for internal wood finishing. It is pale in colour, has low odour and is easy to apply.

No. 8 Lacquer has exceptional resistance to abrasion, dry heat oils, fats and solvents (resistance to wet heat is reduced with semi-gloss and matt sheens). It is ideally suited to contract and domesic situations including floors.
